Authoring & Execution Activity

1 min read

The Authoring & Execution Activity report shows who is writing, executing, and filing — the capacity and throughput of your team by user. Use it to understand where effort is going, spot new contributors, and notice when someone has gone quiet.

Pick an Activity window date range with the date picker. Every metric and table in the report reflects activity within that window. A search box lets you filter to a specific user.

The report summarizes the team across the window:

  • Active users
  • Tests authored
  • Tests executed
  • Defects filed

An activity throughput view charts authoring, execution, and defect activity over time.

The Per-user activity table lists each user with their authored, executed, and filed counts, a total, their last-seen date, and a dominant role derived from where most of their activity sits:

  • Author: Mostly authoring test cases.
  • Executor: Mostly running tests.
  • Triager: Mostly filing defects.
  • Multi: Activity spread across more than one area.

New contributors — users whose first activity in the project falls inside the window — are flagged in the table.

  • New contributors: People whose first activity in the project lands inside the window.
  • Activity by day of week: Authoring, execution, and defect activity bucketed by weekday, highlighting the peak day.
  • Quiet contributors: Previously-active users with no activity in the recent threshold period but who were seen within the last 90 days.

Download the report as a PDF or as Excel (XLSX). The PDF dialog lets you choose sections — cover page, executive summary, key metrics, activity throughput, per-user activity, new contributors, activity by day of week, quiet contributors, and a legend.
