Type what you want to create, such as Let's create a test case, and Oracle opens the create form for it.
Start a Record
Section titled “Start a Record”-
Open Oracle in a project.
-
Type what you want to start, for example
create a defectorlet's add a requirement. -
The real create form opens in the panel beside you, blank and ready.
Ten kinds of record can be started this way:
| Test case | Requirement |
| Test run | Test suite |
| Shared step | Custom field |
| Folder | Defect |
| Release | Release execution |
The Form Opens Blank
Section titled “The Form Opens Blank”Oracle takes you to the right form. It does not fill it in.
Create a high-priority login test case for checkout opens an empty test case form, without the priority or title filled in. Oracle works out which form you want, and you fill it in.
After You Save
Section titled “After You Save”The panel swaps the form for the record you just created, so you can check it, keep editing, or move on without hunting for it.
A folder is the exception: there is no page to open, so you see a confirmation instead.
Two Things Worth Knowing
Section titled “Two Things Worth Knowing”A release execution asks first. It needs to belong to a release, so Oracle shows you the releases in the project and opens the form once you have picked one.
Being offered a form doesn’t mean you can save it. Saving follows the same permissions as the form anywhere else in Hawzu.
You Are Offered What You May Create
Section titled “You Are Offered What You May Create”The list depends on your role. Oracle only offers the kinds of record your role can create in this project. If a read-only role asks to start a defect, Oracle says it can’t, instead of showing a form that fails when you save.
In the Assistant
Section titled “In the Assistant”The assistant panel in the header doesn’t open forms, because it is too narrow for them. It gives you a link to the Oracle page instead, where the form has room.
