Create a release when your team needs a planned milestone for test execution and analysis.
Open The Create Release Window
Section titled “Open The Create Release Window”To create a release:
- Open a project.
- Select Releases.
- Click Create Release.
If the project has no releases yet, the empty page also shows Create Release.


Release Fields
Section titled “Release Fields”Release Title
Required. Use a clear version, milestone, sprint, or delivery name.
Release Status
Required. New releases can start as:
- Not Started
- In Progress
Description
Optional rich text area for release scope, goals, notes, and supporting content. You can upload supporting images from the editor.
Start Date
Optional. Use this for timeline planning and filtering.
End Date
Optional. The end date must be after the start date when both are set.
Labels
Optional. Use labels to group releases with other project work.
Custom Fields
If active release custom fields exist in the project, they appear in the create view. Required custom fields must be completed before the release can be created.
Date Validation
Section titled “Date Validation”Hawzu prevents an invalid date range.
If both dates are set, End Date must be after Start Date.
Create Behavior
Section titled “Create Behavior”The Create button is available only after the required title is filled in.
If required custom fields are missing, Hawzu shows which fields need attention.
While the release is being created, the button shows loading feedback. After creation, the release appears in the Releases list.
Canceling
Section titled “Canceling”Click Cancel to close the create view. If you have changed release fields, Hawzu protects against leaving before you confirm what to do with those changes.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Creating releases depends on your project access. If you do not have permission to create releases, the Create Release action is not available.
