Ask Oracle in the header opens a panel on the right of any screen, so you can ask a question without leaving what you are doing. It is the same Oracle as the Oracle page, in a smaller panel.
Open It
Section titled “Open It”-
Select Ask Oracle in the header. It is available on every screen.
-
Type your question and press Enter.
-
Select Ask Oracle again, or press Esc, to close the panel. Your conversation is still there when you reopen it.
What It Answers Directly
Section titled “What It Answers Directly”The panel answers from documents: your own Canon documents, and Hawzu’s product documentation. For example:
How do I set up a CI pipeline? What does our payments spec say about refunds?
Every answer names its source. A Hawzu documentation answer links to the page; a Canon answer names your document. See Answers From Documents.
What It Sends to the Oracle Page
Section titled “What It Sends to the Oracle Page”The panel is narrow and can’t be resized. When a question needs a chart, a create form or a long table you can sort, you get a short answer and a link to the Oracle page. The page opens with your question already asked.
It Remembers Your Last Few Messages
Section titled “It Remembers Your Last Few Messages”You can follow up without repeating yourself:
You: What does our checkout spec say about promo codes? Oracle: …answers, citing the document… You: And what about expiry?
Oracle remembers your last few messages, not the whole conversation. If a follow-up comes back confused, ask the full question again instead of adding another short reply.
Choosing the Source
Section titled “Choosing the Source”Inside a project, the What to search list lets you choose where the answer comes from:
| Option | Searches |
|---|---|
| Auto | Oracle decides. This is the default and is almost always right. |
| Records | Your project’s records |
| Your workspace name, or My documents | Your Canon documents |
| Docs | Hawzu’s product documentation |
Pick a source to search only there. It’s a little faster than Auto as well as more certain, and it’s worth doing when Auto has picked the wrong source twice.
Only sources available in this project are listed. There is no option for drawing a chart or creating a record; ask for those in your question.
Panel or Page?
Section titled “Panel or Page?”| Use the panel when | Use the page when |
|---|---|
| You are in the middle of something and don’t want to leave the screen | You want records you can sort, filter and export |
| The question is about a document | You want a chart |
| You want to follow up on the last answer | You want to check and edit the conditions Oracle used |
